Jeff Whipple

Jeff Whipple is an acclaimed artist and writer with a four-decade career marked by a distinctive, recognizable style. He has held 87 solo exhibitions at major institutions, including the Tampa Museum of Art and the Boca Raton Museum of Art, and earned 51 top awards. His work has been widely exhibited across the U.S., and a 50-year retrospective debuted at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art in 2025, traveling to South Carolina in 2026. He has also completed numerous public art commissions, including a large-scale installation during Art Basel Miami.

As a playwright, Whipple has staged 22 productions and won multiple statewide awards. He is a four-time recipient of Florida Individual Artist Fellowships and has received numerous prestigious grants, including from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. His work is held in many public and private collections, and he has taught at several universities. In addition to his visual art, he has authored memoirs, a novel, and a collection of plays.
